'Curly' Britt TIPTON - Graveside service for Bedford "Curly" B. Britt, 73, Tipton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tipton Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Ray Hudson, pastor, Trinity Holiness Church, Blair, officiating. Mr. Britt died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Altus. Arrangements are by Tipton Funeral Home, Tipton. He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Headrick to Ollie and Jessie Browning Britt. He grew up and attended school in Headrick. He graduated from Headrick High School in 1947. He served one year in the National Guard and three years in the U.S. Navy with the 45th Infantry Division in the Korean and Vietnam War. He lived in Montebello, Calif., for 17 years. After being discharged from the service, he moved back to Oklahoma and worked various jobs before retiring in 1990. On March 3, 1990, he married Viola Glenn in Tipton. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Danny Ray Williams, Verden, Ill.; a sister, Pauline Davis, Plano, Texas; three stepsons: Darwin Glenn, Henrietta, Texas; Gary Glenn, Tipton; Marlin Glenn, Altus; three stepdaughters: Anita Kirk, Tipton; Beverly Holman, Tipton; and Sheila Arnold, Oklahoma City; many grandchildren; great- grandchildren; nieces; and cousins. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Washita County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/washita/washita.html
