Brown Billy A. Brown passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007. He was born on December 20, 1940 in Port, Oklahoma. He moved to California with his family where he lived for 51 years. Currently he lived in the Jay and West Maysville area of Oklahoma on his horse ranch where he trained rodeo & roping horses. He taught horsemanship and roping skills. He as well known for his hand made horse tack throughout the United States. During his lifetime, Billy was active in rodeo as a participant in the team roping event. For over 30 years he was an active member in CCPRA (CA Cowboy Professional Assoc.), USTRC (United States Team Roping Championships), ATRA American Team Roping Assoc. And Quarter Horse Assoc. He was actively involved with the rodeo and roping youth. Billy is survived by his wife, Kay of Jay, a son, Shawn, and his wife; Corena Lynn, and his two granddaughters; Kylee Eileen and Skylar Rene of Bend, Oregon. A daughter; Shannon Brown of Austin, Texas. A brother; Jack Brown and his wife Linda of Temecula, CA. His sister; Bobbie Carr and her husband Ralph of Chico, CA. Visitation will be Friday, June 1st from 6-8 PM at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Gravette. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 2nd at the United Methodist Church in Gravette with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
