Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Wayne Hicks, of Valley View Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Colson was born in Canute, Okla., and worked as a field supervisor for AMOCO Oil Company until his retirement in 1971. He started the senior adult ministry at Valley View Church of the Nazarene in Amarillo and helped start the Nazarene Church in Pampa, where he worked in the music department. He married Treva Fay Hinkle in 1925 at Washita County, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lynn Colson of College Station; four daughters, Elwanda Romines of Duncan, Okla., Jeanne White of Topeka, Kan., and Rosalie Imel and Jeanette Hess, both of Amarillo; two brothers, James Colson and Hurshell Colson, both of Grants Pass, Ore.; two sisters, Mae Felder of Nampa, Idaho, and Opal Felder of California; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Valley View Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 7601 S. Western, Amarillo, TX 79110-4755.
