All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Durant OK Durant Daily Democrat 3 Feb 2005 Edward "Eddy" Cothran Services for Edward "Eddy" Cothran will be Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Dalton-Holmes Funeral Chapel. Edward Carter Cothran was born June 19, 1943, in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Samuel Edward Cothran and Grace Elizabeth (Smith) Cothran. He passed from this life on Feb. 1, 2005, at his residence in Caddo at the age of 61. Edward "Eddy" Carter Cothran was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma. He spent his early and retirement years in Caddo. He graduated from Durant High School in 1961. Eddy received a B.S. from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he later achieved a master's degree in Education. He also had an associates degree from Rhema Bible College. Edward served his country in US Army Reserves. He was a school teacher in Antlers, Lubbock, Texas, Achille, Tulsa, McKinney, Texas, and Bennington. He was a 4H sponsor. He loved woodwork, his cattle, and especially his grandchildren. He attended church at Victory Life in Durant. He married Joyce Kropp on July 17, 1999, in Caddo, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Edward and Grace Elizabeth (Smith) Cothran and the mother of his children Mary Taylor. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; son Sam Cothran and wife Tracie of Caddo; daughter Lisa Montgomery and husband David of Denison, Texas; daughter Elizabeth Cochran and husband Bill of Mesquite, Texas; grandsons Kyle and Tyler Cothran of Caddo; and grandsons Kyle and Carter Montgomery Denison, Texas. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Sam Cothran, David Montgomery, John Verrill, Tim McIntire, Kenny Perry, Joe Bails, Flavil George, Bill Cochran, Gary Deason, Rich Eggenberg and Glenn Trapp serving as pallbearers. Family Hour will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at dhfh@communicomm.com.
