Roland Youngberg, Rev. Gary Jones and Rev. Kurtis Ivey, burial will conclude in the Retrop Cemetery, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Eleanor Fay (Covington) Dawson was born to Curtis J. and Fay B. (Hines) Covington in Retrop, Oklahoma and passed away early Tuesday, September 01, 2009 in her Clinton Home. Mrs. Dawson was raised in Retrop and graduated from Retrop High School in 1937. She continued her education at the Miami Jr. College, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State University and graduated from Southwest State College in 1941 with a batchelor's degree in music. She married Mr. Charles L. Dawson on December 23, 1941 in Clinton. She taught music at Sentinel for 3 years, Weatherford for a year, Norman 3 years and Wilmette, IL for 2 years Frederick for 2 years and Clinton for 3 years. She has been very active in the community and the First United Methodist Church since 1961. She was a member of the Miriam Guild and has served on the committee for funeral diners for several years, she was a member of the Worthwhile Sunday school class, and the Wednesday Bible Study, she directed the Methodist Choir for eleven years as well as the Presbyterian Church choir director for 12 years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Sorority past member of the O.M.E.A. and held a position for coupled of years; P.E.O. Chapter BR. She volunteered at the Methodist Nursing Home, gave private piano lessons and she belonged to two bridge clubs. She also played the piano for the Clinton Rotary Club and the evening Lions Club for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Charles Dawson. She is survived by a son, Larry Keith Dawson, Clinton; a cousin who was more like a sister, Barbara Wiebe, Clinton and a sister-in-law Marilyn Simpson and husband, James, Yukon, Oklahoma.
