Dedmon Dec. 17, 1931 - May 18, 2007 Resident of Concord Sgt. Major J.W. Dedmon, Ret. U.S. Army. A native of Canute, OK, and longtime resident of Concord, passed away Friday in Concord at the age of 75 years. His career in the U.S. Army spanned 23 years; serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. An Operations Manager with American Protective Services for over 15 years, he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid coin collector and loved walking. Preceded in death by his mother, Winnie Christian; father, Cliff Christian; brothers, Gerald, Daniel and Ray Dedmon; and son, Cliff Dedmon. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Maureen Dedmon; sons, Michael (Cia), John (Karleen), and Pat (Socorro); daughter, Kitty Freeis; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Moore's Mission Funeral Home, 1390 Monument Blvd., Concord, followed by the funeral services on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Concord. Please join us at Jay and Maureen's home, 3568 Cranbrook Way, Concord after the services for a celebration of Jay's life.
