All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fir Grove Cemetery--Cottage Grove OK Eugene Register Guard 06 Jun 2007 Emerson Franklin The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove for Emerson Gerald Franklin of Parker, Colo., formerly of Cottage Grove. He died June 2 of age- related causes at age 86. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. He was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Cloud Chief, Okla., to Daniel and Ara Tarr Franklin. He married Anna Mueller on Feb. 28, 1944, in Portland. He worked as a farmer and as a maintenance machinist for Armour and Swift food processing companies. Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Tompkins of Fredrick, Colo., Sue Shields of Vancouver, Wash., Nancy Riley of Parker, Colo., Bonnie Charron of New Haven, Conn., and Patsy Franklin of Denver; a son, Darrell of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Dell of Roseburg; a sister, Florene Franklin of The Dalles; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. His wife died Oct. 16, 2003, and a daughter, Darlene Franklin, died previously.
