He departed this life on Dedcember 14, 1943, at the age of 63 years 10 months and 18 days. He was married to Miss Mattie Martha Bruton, February 19, 1901 at Cordell, Oklahoma. Nine children were born to this union, three of whom passed away in their tender years. He was converted in Wichita county in 1903 and joined the Baptist church and lived a consistent Christian life the remainder of his years. He brought his family to Roger Mills County in February 1919, and settled about five miles from Reydon. Mr. Gray was in business in Reydon and beloved by the residents of that community who were shocked by his sudden and unexpected death. Thosed who mourn his passing are his wifed and six children as follows: Mrs. Jewel Patterson of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Jessie Clines, of Reydon, Mrs. Agnes Willhelmns of Mobeetie, Texas; Mrs. Rosalle Anderson, Cheyenne; Darrel in the Navy forces in the Southwest Pacific; and Harold in the Air Forces at Lincoln, Nebraska. His father, W.G. Gray of Carnegie; four sisters, Mrs. J.A. Dodd of Mountain Views, Oklahoma; Mrs. C .F. Pennington of Reydon; Mrs. Roy McFarland and Mrs. George Dodd of Oklahoma City. Also three brothers, Hubert and Euel of California; and Leonard of Ponca City. Eleven grandchildren and nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 18, 1943 at 2 p.m. in the Community building by the Baptist pastor, Rev. Horace Woodard, assisted by Rev. H.R. Atkinson, Methodist pastor. Interment in White Rose cemetery. Pall Bearers were G.A. Yowell, H.G. Parman, Albert Mills, Percy . Vandagriff, J.M. Chandler and R.B. Jones. Abbott, Elk City; and Miss Evelyn Pennington, Oakwood.
