Johnnie Mae grew up on a farm near Leedey where she attended school at Diamond Front and graduated from Leedey Public School in 1934 at the age of 15. She was united in mariage to John F. Morlan on December 26, 1935. To this union was born two children James Robert and Cheryl Sue. They lived in the Red Creek area and later moved to Camargo where she worked at the Camargo Locker, Howell's Dry Goods, Cowdens, Tregos and many other jobs in the area. In 1946, they joined the First Christian Church in Camargo where they were vewry actively involved. In 1957 they moved to Leedey where she began her beautician career at Lavena's Beauty Shop until retiring in 1979. After 39 years of marriage she lost her husband Johnie in 1973. She then met and married Kermit Hall and they enjoyed 10 years of married life. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Leedey where she remained active until her death. She was precede in death by her parents, both husbands, her son, Jim, her grandchildren Lynn and Vana Moore, and one sister, Emma Albright. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Moore and husband Dewayne of Leedey, Oklahoma, her daughter-in-law Velta Morlan of Elk City, Oklahoma, and her grandchildren John Morlan of Elk City, Oklahoma, Joe and Amber Morlan of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Julie Morlan of Elk City, Oklahoma, Larry and Lorri Moore of Hammon, Oklahoma, and her great greandchildren Lyndsi Moore of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Cooper and Cord Morian of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Alison and Emily Moore of Hammon, Oklahoma, sister Allene Foster and husband Paul of Norman, Oklahoma, Ina Wherrit of Thomas, Oklahoma, one brother Bill South and wife Betty of Leedey, Oklahoma, several nieces, nephews and many good friends. Services were held Saturday, July 23, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church of Leedey, Oklahoma with interment following in the Trail Cemetery. Services arranged by Shawe Funeral Home, Leedey, Oklahoma.
