(Tommy) Hicklin was born November 19, 1918 in Cordell, Oklahoma. He passed from this life February 5th, 2003 at his home in Oklahoma City. He was 84 years old. He grew up on the family farm in Dill City, OK. Tommy was a World War II veteran serving his country with the 179th infantry for four and one half years as they fought through Italy, Sicily, Germany and France. He was proud of this service, loved to be an American and loved to fly his flag in front of his house. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason and was proud of the charitable work the Masons do. He retired from Tinker Field in 1978 after working there 27 years. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Betty Hicklin, his wife Oletha, brothers Bruce, Frank, Paul and Delbert, sisters Edith and Pauline. He is survived by one sister, Alice Ruth Dawson of Newcastle, OK. Tommy was a member of the Southeast Church of Christ in Oklahoma City and loved his friends there. This past year he grew to love what he laughingly called his 'girls' from Hospice. Suzanne and Patricia we thank you. You helped make his last year happy. He said it was the best Christmas he could remember. Tommy made the decision years ago to donate his body to science. He said it was a chance to serve other people. Tommy also said that since he had no children and all of his immediate family but one was gone, he didn't particularly want a memorial service and if there are those who would like to remember him some way, they could make donations either to the Masonic Charitable Organization or to Hospice of Oklahoma County in his name. Tommy, we will miss you. Say hello to Mother.
