All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Memorial Garden Cemetery--Edmond OK Keef, Violet Gladys Bishop Violet Gladys Bishop Keef, known as 'Vi' to all her many friends and associates, died January 26, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Gene) C. Keef. They were married on September 29, 1940 in Cordell, Oklahoma and celebrated 56 years of marriage. She is survived by her brother, four sons and their families, and a foster child: L.D. Morris and family Jana and Sue; Marty C. Keef, MBA, his life companion Pat A. CrenShaw, and sons Gregory C., Jonathan Mark H., and Justin A.C. Keef of Girdwood, Alaska. Ronald E. Keef, BA, his wife Marian, daughter Kelly A., and sons Kevin M. and Daniel E. Keef of Edmond. Alan C. Keef, BS, Oklahoma City. Kenneth M. Keef, BS, his wife Marsha and daughter Ashley of Abilene, Texas. Her protege Ryan Kelley of Oklahoma City. Vi was born on April 1, 1921 in Heart, Arkansas to Julia A. Romine Bishop and B. Curtis Bishop (deceased). She moved to Oklahoma at age 5, graduating from Minco High School in 1939, continuing her education at UCO and OSU. Education was her lifetime endeavor for herself and her sons. She was employed by the Oklahoma State Department of Education in March 1960 and she retired in June 1985 as the Department Personnel Director. In addition to being a working Mom, she was an active organizer and supporter for her sons local Cub Scout Packs and Troops of Boy Scouts of America where her Sons earned the Eagle rank and many merit badges. She always found time for school projects and support of her sons' Future Farmers of America livestock activities. She was an enthusiastic organizer and leader of the American Business Women's Association, instrumental in creating new chapters, mentoring many new members, and establishing programs for continuing development, and funding a scholarship for members. She enjoyed her many friends and membership in the Santa Fe Presbyterian Church and the Kiwanis Club of Edmond. She especially enjoyed her many years of fellowship and accomplishments of the Edmond Chapter of the Good Sam Recreational Vehicle Club, the Rollin' Okies. Services will be held at 3pm, January 30, 2003 at the Santa Fe Presbyterian Church of Edmond. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden Cemetery on North Kelly Avenue.
