Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 23 with Rev. Jon Wilson and Rev. George Isbell officiating. Internment followed in Lawnview Cemetery, under the direction of McClure Funeral Home. Lowber was raised in the Lake Valley community, where her parents operated a grocery store for many years. She attended Southwest Teachers College in Weatherford, and taught at Lone Tree east of Cordell. She married Oliver William Lowber September 25, 1927. They farmed southeast of Cordell prior to moving to Cordell in 1956. They operated the eastside Grocery on Third Street and owned rental property. She worked at Self Furniture and Western Auto. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents; Frank and Mittie; husband, Oliver; daughter, Billoye DeLong; son, Frank Lowber; two sisters, Emmazette Sutton and Velta Halford. Survivors include three children, Byrdena Cook and husband, Eldon of Cordell; LaZetta Penner and husband, Lawrence of Cordell, and Royce Lowber, and wife Della of Cordell; and grandson Scott Lowber, of newcastle, whom she raised; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
