Burial followed in the Gotebo Cemetery. Pate was born on August 28, 1907, in Cleveland, Arkansas, to Nathan Andrew and Sarah Catherine (Lowder) Reid. She died on March 19, 2002, at the age of 94. She married Henry Pleas Pate on December 17, 1922. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cordell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Sarah; husband, Henry; Daughters Cathern Matlage and Laverne Dempsey; Granddaughter Wanda and Clara Jean; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sons, Louis Pate of Maysville, Okla., William H. Pate of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Alvin E. Pate of San Jose Calif.; Ten grandchildren,; 16 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Pearl Medlock of Phoenix, Ariz., Ona Lee Newbun of Oklahoma City, and Opal Trimmer of Oklahoma City.
