He departed this life July 5, 2002 at the age of 73 years, nine months and 24 days at Cordell Memorial Hospital. Pat retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of service. He was a rural mail carrier at the Elk City post office for eight years. He had lived in Cordell for the past 31 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and enjoyed fishing, gardening, great-grandchildren and woodcrafts. He was married to Laura Allen July 6, 1970. Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers: Robert, Reid, George, Earl and Nate and a sister in infancy. Survivors include his wife, Laura of the home; three children: John M. Swift, Patrick Swift and wife Virginia and Janice Collins; seven grandchildren; Tania Price, Scott Swift, Kevin Swift, Mark Swift, Jason Swift, Jonathan Swift and Danny Creech; ten great-grandchildren: Melinda Price, Casey Price, Annabelle Price, Amber Swift, Tyler Swift, Haley Swift, Briana Swift, Koldyn Swift, Alyssa White and Ashton Swift; Laura's three children: Bruce Juel, Vern Juel and Judy Goeringer and husband Gayden; six grandchildren: Tamarreau Goeringer-Evans and husband Daniel Evans, Cindy Juel, Blaine Juel, Nicole Juel, Crystal Juel and Kimberly Juel; two great-grandchildren: Jayden Goeringer-Evans and Kendrick Goeringer-Evans; one brother, Dave Swift of Pennsylvania; other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Pat Swift will be held Wednesday, July 10 at 10:00 a.m. at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell with H.L. Shirey officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery. The family suggests memoirals to the American Red Cross.
