He passed away January 11, 2010 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years and 6 days. Joe attended school in Snyder, Oklahoma and Mountain View, Oklahoma before graduating from Chiickasha High School in 1953. He met Fay Green at Chickasha where she was attending the University of Science and Liberal Arts. Joe joined the US Air Force in 1954 and he returned to Chickasha to marry Fay on March 23, 1955. Joe and Fay have lived all over the United States and the world due to Joe's career in the Air Force. They began their married life together in Mount Clements, Michigan where their son, Joe, Jr., was born. Lori was born in Victorville, California. Joe was then stationed at Wheeler Air Force Base in Hawaii and their daughter, Terri, was born in Honolulu. His next assignments were Omaha, Nebraska, Tokyo, Japan and Sumter, South Carolina. Joe spent a year by himself in Thailand before beging stationed Tucson, Arizona, Bentwaters AFB Station near Midwest City, Oklahoma where he retired after 20 years of service to his country. Joe worked for Sooner State Telephone in Blanchard, Oklahoma before he and Fay moved to Cheyenne in 1981, building a home on the land that Fay inherited from her father, Clyde. Joe and Fay celebrated their 50th anniversary in Honolulu, Hawaii with their children in 2005. They both have retired and ran a few cattle with the help of their son, Joe, Jr. who lives nearby. Joe was very proud of his 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Fay Robinson, of the home; 1 son, Joe Robinson, Jr. and wife, Doreen, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Lori Andrews, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Terri Robinson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Jon Robinson, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Chad Robinson and weife, Jenee', Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Sara Andrews, Tyler, Texas, David Andrews, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Halee Robinson, Oklkahoma City, Oklahoma; 4 great grandchildren, Jake, Corbin, Shelby and Ashlyn Robinson, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Hubert Dwayne Robinson, Sulphur, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Bobbie Jean Hewdger, Warren, Arkansas and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Aubry Cowan and Steve Clark. Burial followed at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services.
