Stringer, born in Cordell, OK on November 7, 1927 to D.C. and Avie Lola Stringer, died October 2, 2007 in Peoria, AZ, he was 79 years old. His father was a pastor of churches in OK and NM and served as the first City Missionary in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Stringer married the former Harriett Rogers of Lisbon, FL on November 11, 1948 in Albuquerque, NM. He held a BA from Baylor Univ., Waco TX and attended Southwestern and Southern Baptist Theology Seminary, was a full time pastor for the Southern Baptist churches in NM, AZ and LV and was the Executive Secretary for the Northwest Baptist Convention, Florida Baptist Convention and AZ Southern Baptist Convention. Mr. Stringer also served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheridan Kaye Cox. Survived by son, Stephen Kirk of Costa Mesa, CA and two grandsons, Jeff and Craig Cox on Los Angeles, CA. Services will be held 1:00 PM, October 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Sun City, 11019 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, AZ. Menke Funeral Home handled arrangements.
