All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Plainview Cemetery--Plainview TX Garland Wallace Sr. PLAINVIEW - Garland Wallace Sr., 81, died Monday, July 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with David Milstead officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Wallace was born in Washita County, Okla., and grew up in Cordell, Okla. In the late 1920s, he moved to Quanah. From 1936 until 1939, he served in the Civil Corps of Engineering then was in the medical corps during World War II. Mr. Wallace moved to Childress in 1939 and to Plainview in 1951. In 1980, he retired as a truck mechanic from Hatch-Isaacs Feed Mill. He married Elizabeth Simmons in 1942 at Hollis, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas B. Wallace of Lawton; a daughter, Barbara McMurrian of Plainview; two sisters, Allena Nelson of Lelia Lake and LaVon Hall of Plainview; six grandchildren including Rhonda Morton of Plainview, Rene Haarmeyer of Lubbock and Regina Maldonado of Ruidoso, N.M.; and four great-grandchildren.
