Hoffman was born July 16, 1955, in Elk City to Anita Ann and Alfred Charles Hoffman. He died March 19, at the age of 46. A prayer vigil was held at 7 p.m., Thrusday, March 21 at the Whinery-Savage Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiated by Father Michael Chapman. Burial followed in the St. Francis Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Hoffman graduated from Canute High School in 1973. He worked at Cayton Tire in Oklahoma City before moving back to Canute. He married Brenda Kay (Bounds) on March 29, 1974, in Sayre. They lived in Elk City for a short time before moving to Canute, where they made their home. Wayne worked for Loffland Brothers Drilling and other drilling contractors before going to work for Nomac Drilling Corporation, where he was a Rig Manager. Wayne loved his grandchildren and wildlife. He could be seen every morning south of Canute, watching for deer and turkey. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John G. and Geneva Hoffman, Leo and Elizabeth Steffes; his father, two brothers, Jerry and Dennis Hoffman; his father-in-law, H. B. Bounds; and one nephew, Stacy Hoffman. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; mother, Anita; son, Eric Hoffman and wife Krissy of Canute; daughter, Destiny Hill and husband Cody of Drummond, Okla.; two grandchildren, Rowdy and Riley Hoffman; sisters Elaine Cooper and husband Floyd of Yukon, Okla., and Alfreada Frederick, and husband Alton of Canute; brother Ron Hoffman and wife Evelyn of Yukon, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives.
