All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian Thursday, 4 August 2005 Clifton Alfred Anderson 1913 - 2005 Services: Sat., Aug. 6, 11:00 a.m. Private graveside services will be held for Clifton Anderson who passed away on Monday, August 1, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Bakersfield. Clifton Alfred Anderson was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on August 26, 1913. At the age of five, Clif and his family moved to Porterville, California where he graduated from Porterville Union High School in 1932. Clif then moved to Bakersfield and became a butcher. Over the years, Clif owned his own meat market for many years and he worked for the Green Frog Market where he was employed for nearly 25 years. Clifs career was interrupted during World War II when he voluntarily enlisted in the Army. Over the years, Clif belonged to the Kern Kiwanis Club, the Bakersfield Ys Mens Club, and he was very active in Northminster Presbyterian Church where he and his late wife worshipped for nearly 50 years. An avid traveler and animal lover, Clif was preceded in death by Naomi, his wife of 68 years; parents Lula Mae and William and brothers, Calvin and Curtis. Clif is survived by his son, Stan and daughter-in-law, Monica of Bakersfield; sister, Marietta Buckley of Florence, Arizona; grandson, Chris and wife, Kelsey of Grass Valley; and grandson, Jon of Los Angeles.
