Estes MULESHOE - Robert D. Estes, 71, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997. There will be no services. Cremation and arrangements were by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Estes was born in Alva, Okla., and had been a resident of Muleshoe since April, moving from Thoreau, N.M. He was a graduate of Lubbock High School. He was a former member of the Texas Rangers. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, the Navy and the Army and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Cooties. He also was a lifetime member and chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans of Albuquerque. He was a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America in Amarillo and a volunteer fireman for the Blue Water Acres Fire Department in Thoreau. Mr. Estes married Alice Ray in 1975 at Los Lunas, N.M.
