Erikson, 80, son of the late Francis Marion and Myrtle Violet (Moore) Erikson, was born July 12, 1915, on the farm northwest of Alva, and passed away Feb. 25, 2004, at his home northwest of Alva. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; two sons, Stanley Lee Erikson and Lloyd Keith Erikson; three brothers, William Herbert Erikson, Virgil V. Erikson, and Francis Marion 'F.M.' Erikson, Jr.; and three sisters, Opal Violet Kowing, Irene McKenzie, and infant Georgia Elaine Erikson. Howard is survived by two sons, Ronald Eugene Erikson of Alva and Howard Russell Erikson and his wife, Linda, of Alva; two daughters, Shirley Jean Bull and her husband, Frank, of Indiahoma, and Ellen Elaine Beck and her husband, Steve, of Alva; two brothers, Irish Erikson and his wife, Loyce, of Alva and Earl Elwood Erikson of Alva; and three sisters, Mabel Claire Kokendoffer of Mustang, Pearl Marie McMurphy of Alva, Lorna Dee Phillips of Alva. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Travis Erikson of Alva, Erik Erikson and his wife, Jana, of Henderson, Nev., and Vickie Hedge and her husband, John, of Ponca City, Angela Bull of Lawton, Jennifer Bull of Indiahoma, Blake Erikson of Alva, Brooke Erikson of Alva, Tom Erikson of Enid, Clint Erikson and his wife, Amy, of Alva, Amanda Clepper and her husband, Jay, of Enid, Michael Beck of Lakenheath, England, and KeiLee Wagner and her husband, Jeff, of Cleo Springs; 8 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Alva Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ron Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
