She passed away on Dec. 30, 2004, at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva, Oklahoma. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, one daughter, Nelda Jean, one son, Thomas Louis and his wife Sandra, four brothers, Dolph, Othur, Ed and Raymond (Jack) Moore, and four sisters, Chloe Harris, Minnie DeBusk, Veryl Hassell Lee and Ola Lankford, two son-in-laws, Glen Brewer and Verl Fox. Survivors include; one son, Irvin D. Hopper and daughters, Mary Brewer and Nona Fox of Alva; daughter, Brenda Rogers and husband John of Moncks Corner, S.C.; four grandsons and their wives; Randy and Kenna Hopper, Cheney, Kan., Marty and Tammie Hopper, Cheney, Kan., Tim and Beth Hopper, Garden Plains, Kan., and Bryan and Becky Ackley, West Fargo, N.D.; five granddaughters and their husbands; Glenda and Dan Scheer, Garden Plains, Kan., Leah and Monte Cunningham, Wichita, Kan., Lori and John Bleavins, Sidney, Iowa, Renea and Matt Hildreth, North Mankato, Minn., and Carrie and Scott Hathaway, Goose Creek, S.C. Also surviving are twenty-seven great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family friend Edwin Boham, other relatives and friends. Memorial in her name may be sent to Alva Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Jan. 4 at the First Baptist Church in Alva with Dr. Greg Hook officiating. Interment will be in Carmen City Cemetery.
