McDermott, 90, Dacoma Funeral Services for Clarence R. McDermott, 90, will be held at the Hopeton Wesleyan Church November 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Marion Hadsell, Pastor, officiating. Interment follows in the Garrison Cemetery, Dacoma. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may by made online at www.whartonfuneralchapel.com Clarence Richard, son of Nellie (Burkholder) and William Ezra McDermott was born on January 5, 1915 a mile south of Pleasant View Church near Dacoma, Oklahoma. He passed away at the Enid Bass (Integris) Health Center on the 1st of November at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 26 days. On July 21, 1940 he was married to Opal Whittington. She passed away on March 31, 1948. On November 17, 1949 at her parents home in Alva he was married to Christie Marie Peterson. To their marriage two sons Max and Donnie were born. Christie passed away on June 13, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Hazel Simmons and Bertha Todd, two brothers Ralph and Orville. Clarence is survived by his two sons and their wives, Max and Jane of Alva and Donnie and Jo of Dacoma, five grandchildren Dustin and Misty of San Antonio, Texas, Alyson and Kris of Alva, Ashley and Leah of Oklahoma City, Jillian of Stillwater, four great grandchildren, Addison Christie, Ayden Lee-Ann, Anthon Max and Kyler Kris, a brother and his wife Chester and Marjory of Welch, a very special friend, LaVona Budy of Alva. A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
