From the Aline Chronoscope, Aline, Woods county, Oklahoma, November 8, 1907, front page. Old Settler Dead C.C. McCombs, aged 73 years, died at his home north of town, Monday evening. The funeral service was conducted by Elder Greenwade of the Christian church and the body was inferred in the Aline Cemetery Wednesday. A very large number of neighbors and friends followed the remains to their last resting place. The deceased was one of the early settlers of the Aline neighborhood and was highly respected and honored by all. He leaves an aged wife and a daughter, Mrs. Johnson of Barber county, besides many old friends to mourn his loss.
