All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Carmen City Cemetery-- Alva Review Courier 26 Dec 2003 Max Lester Presnall, 88, Alva Max Lester Presnall, 88, son of the late Lindley Howard and Maude (Muncie) Presnall, was born August 1, 1915, near Alva in Woods County, Oklahoma, and passed away suddenly December 23, 2003, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. After Max graduated from Carmen High School, he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Panhandle A. & M. College. Max enlisted in United States Air Force where he was a jet engine mechanic. As a crew chief, he prided himself that every one of his airplanes came back. On December 7, 1945, he was united in marriage to Audrey Behm at Carmen, Oklahoma. They lived in Enid where he worked at Vance Air Force Base as a jet engine mechanic. He also farmed. They moved to Alva in 1983. He was known and appreciated as "Mr. Fix it." He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He loved singing and besides being an active member of the Methodist Church choir, he also sang in community choirs when he had the chance. He was a member of the Gideons, liked to attend veteran's reunions, and was active in KIROS, a prison ministry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Presnall and Robert Presnall; and one sister, Virginia Kelley. Max is survived by his wife, Audrey, of Alva; one daughter, Nancy Presnall of Enid; and two sisters, Mary Helen Wilson of Alva, and Charlene (Polly) Baker of South Carolina. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Weegie Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
