John Reed, 69, Enid

Funeral services for John Reed, 69, of Enid, will be Saturday, Sept. 11, 
at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sharon, Okla. The Reverend Lloyd 
Stovall will officiate. Interment will be in the North Persimmon Cemetery 
at Sharon under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service 
of Woodward.

John Ellis Reed was born June 24, 1935, at Farry, Okla., to Eddie and 
Naomi (Probst) Reed and died Sept. 8, 2004, at Skiatook while on a fishing 
trip.

John is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; four sons, Johnny of 
Colorado Springs, Colo., Rocky and Jim of Enid and Robby of Woodward; 
three daughters, Jona Wilson of Groton, Conn., Rita Leonard of 
Fredricktown, Mo., and Thelma Scott of Fairview. Also surviving are four 
sisters, Rosie Knowles of Woodward, Doris Cellan of Alva, Nola Petty and 
Gayle Reed, both of Jonesboro, Ark.; two brothers, Lewis Reed of 
Coldwater, Kan., and Rod Scovall of Enid; twenty five grandchildren, 
numerous great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends, 
including his fishing companion, Earnie Cannon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, a 
daughter, and a granddaughter.
