Salamy, 86, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997. Trisagion prayer service was at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today in St. John Eastern Orthodox Church with the Rev. Dan Suciu officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Waynoka Cemetery at Waynoka, Okla. Mrs. Salamy was born in Waynoka and had lived in Amarillo since 1933. She married S.F. Salamy in 1933. They operated the Texas Wholesale Grocery from 1933 until 1939. She operated Alice's Linen Shop on Polk Street in 1937 and had been a real estate broker since 1959. She was a member of St. John Eastern Orthodox Church. She was an artist and a member of the Amarillo Fine Arts Association. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954. Survivors include a son, Fred Salamy of Amarillo; and a brother, John Coury of Oklahoma City.
