All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Municipal Cemetery--Alva OK Alva Review Courier 24 Sep 2003 Sheldon Dale Sherman, 75, Alva Sheldon Dale Sherman, 75, son of Constance (Jackson) and Harold Carrico Sherman, was born in Alva on June 27, 1928. He passed away at the Alva Share Medical Center on Sept. 23, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sheldon is survived by his wife, Joy of the home; a daughter, Janet Benson of Crowley, Texas; two sons and their wives, Larry John and Denise of Yukon and Thomas Harold and Karen of Canyon, Texas; eight grandchildren, Brandon Sherman and Dana Meador, Sarah Sherman, Landon and his wife Traci Sherman and Jennifer Sherman, Sarah and Scott Benson; also a great granddaughter, Heidi Sherman; two sisters, Nilda and her husband, Bob Johnson of Hendersonville, N.C. and Betty Brackett of Berrien Springs, Mich.; five nieces and nephews; an aunt, Georgia Sievers of Oceanside, Calif.; an uncle, Roy Jackson of Alva; other relatives and a host of friends. Contributions may be made in his name to the John N. Cameron Scholarship Fund at Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation or the Alva Education Foundation. A family private time will be Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Alva First United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Weegie Williams, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery. The Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva is in charge of arrangements.
