Townsend, 82, will be at the Alva Municipal Cemetery, Friday, December 9, 2005 at 10 a.m. with Father Stephen Samples, pastor St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Enid, Oklahoma, officiating. Those attending will meet at the Wharton Funeral Chapel and proceed to the Alva Municipal Cemetery for interment. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may by made online at www.whartonfuneralchapel.com Erma Pauline, 82, daughter of Effie Mae (Smith) and Harry Presley Cropp was born on a farm four and a half miles southwest of Hopeton, Oklahoma on January 1, 1923. She passed away at the Share Convalescent Home on Dec. 5, 2005. Miss Cropp was married to Carrol William Townsend on April 4, 1940 at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. To their marriage four children, Roberta Lee, Carolyn Dee, Danny Kingston and Jil Lyn were born. Carrol passed away January 7, 1980 at Alva. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Dee on November 27, 1943 a son Danny Kingston on January 5, 2002, her parents, two sisters, Cleo Girardo and Virgie Burton. Erma is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Roberta and Debo Keltch of Cleo Springs; and Jil and Brad Whitehead of Lamont; two granddaughters, Laci (Kerr) Cain and her husband James and their daughter Zoe (Erma's great granddaughter) of Aurora, Colorado and Ashley Kerr and her son, Isaiah (Erma's great grandson) of Alva; one sister, Edith Tate of Alva; three nieces; two nephews; other relatives and friends.
