And Lula (Frack) Veley, was born Jan. 18, 1910, in rural Woods County, and passed away Nov. 10, 2004, at Share Medical Center of Alva. Besides his parents and his wife, Eunice, Emmett was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Dean Veley; his sister, Lila Pauline Quinn Rollins; and a grandson, Clifton Dean Polf. Emmett is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Blacker of Valparaiso, Fla., and Nola Wilerson and her husband, Larry, of Westmoreland, Kan.; one son, Carl Veley and his wife, Alice, of Houston, Texas; and two step-daughters, Jo Anne Melton and her husband, Joe, and Rita Polf and her husband, Charles, both of Alva. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Garrett Veley of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Eric Veley of Houston, Texas, Jennifer Shanahan of Annondale, Va., Barry Wilderson of Wamego, Kan., Terry Wilderson of Columbiana, Ohio, Cheri Koppes of Manhattan, Kan., Jonella Rathgeber of Alva, Joey Melton of Alva, Jolisa Dobbs of Dallas, Texas, Jody Melton of Berkeley, Calif., Jeff Polf of Orlando, Okla., and Zelner Polf of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; 16 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Graveside services were 3 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Lightfoot officiating. Interment was under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
