Her elder son Own came on the Chartered Train Car that held all their belongings. I can only assume that Eugene & Ernest were already married in Kansas. John Hurst (1848, Wayne Co, Ohio -1891, Sanders County, Wahoo NB) married Kate Walters (1849 birthplace unknown-1938 Woodward County Oklahoma) they had the following children: Eugene dob? Ernest dob? Owen dob? Lewis born Feb. 27 1880 in Wahoo Nebraska Ruth born about 1881 in Wahoo NB Oliver Hurst born 1882 in Wahoo NB The following is my Grandmother Ellen's writings: Mother Hurst had visited from in Oklahoma and bought a farm. Then in 1904 she chartered a Train Car. (Dates are confusing because in 1904 Lewis would have been 24 years old) They brought 3 horses, 1 coe, some chickens, all her furniture and a buggie. Lewis, Oliver and Mother Hurst came on the passanger train. Owen came with the chartered car. They lived on the farm for about 8 years then they sold the farm to Charlie Thompson. In 1909 Oliver was married to Jennie Merklin. In 1910 Lewis married Ellen Sarah Riggs. ********************************************************** I have more info on both these families and would like to cooperate with other Hursts or Riggs from the same line. It is said that some of the Hursts ended up in Hutchinson Kansas. If you are out there email me please! velda_saldana@hp.com
