Bryan 08-12-10 to 01-21-04 Graveside services for Paulyne V. Bryan will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at 10 a.m. Paulyne passed away on Wednesday, Jan 21, 2004, she was 93 years old. Pastor, Elmar Rizo De Ocera, of the First United Methodist Church of Delano, will officiate. Paulyne was born in Woodward, OK on Aug. 12, 1910 to her parents, James R. and Laura B. Bryan. She had three brothers and four sisters, who have all preceded her in death. Clayton Bryan, Lester Bryan, Walter Bryan, Eleta Bryan Roth, Bernice Bryan Peebles, Ruth Bryan Cowan, Maude Bryan Franzen and Bessie Bryan. The family moved to California in the 1920s and settled in Exeter, California and worked in the farming community. Paulyne moved to Delano, California in the mid 1940s and began operating the Delano Flower Shop; and continued the business until 1997 when she sold the business and retired. She moved to Bakersfield in 1998 to be closer to her family. While in Delano, Paulyne was active in the Delano Chamber of Commerce in 1985-86. She was an Honorary Lifetime Director of the Delano Chamber of Commerce. She was a 50 year member of Soroptimist International of Delano and named "Woman of the Year" in 1993. She was also a member of the Porterville Emblem Club No. 82. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Delano and was involved with the Delano Regional Medical Hospital while living in Delano. Paulyne is survived by nephew, Edwin Peebles and wife Patty of Alhambra; niece, Peggy DiMussio and husband Nick of Carmichael. Also by great nephews and great nieces, James and Bette Bryan, David and Chris Bryan of Bakersfield, Steve and Eileen Bryan of Santa Barbara, Robyn and Will Cooper of Visalia and Linda Hand of Exeter, Tom DiMuccio of Spring, TX, Paula and Jim Block of Elk Grove, CA and Suzanne and Greg Souligny of Galt, CA., Larry and Vicky Peebles of Los Angeles, Joann and Anthony Guzman of Chino Hills and Greg and Minna Peebles of West Covina. She is also survived by 14 great great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mrs. Ruby Willis, who has been Paulyne's special friend and helper whom Paulyne could not have been without.
