Ruby Thompson Cook

Ruby Thompson Cook, 95, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood 
Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Dr. Chester O'Brien of First 
Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in 
Canyon.

Mrs. Cook was born in Woodward, Okla., and spent her early years in 
Vega and Memphis. She attended West Texas Teachers College in Canyon 
and moved to Amarillo 65 years ago.

A homemaker, Mrs. Cook was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church 
of Amarillo. She was a member of Panhandle Pen Women's Writers Club 
and Amarillo Senior Citizens Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Cook, in 1966.

Survivors include a daughter, Sunita Michael of Amarillo; a son, 
Richard Cook of Amarillo; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; 
and three great-greatgrandchildren.
