"Bob" Drake, 87, formerly of Perryton, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Ulrey, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Drake was born in Sharon, Okla., and moved to the Perryton area in 1946. He owned and operated Drake's Best Way Grocery Store from 1946 until 1973. In 1998 he moved to Grand Prairie. He was a member of Perryton Jaycees and Chamber of Commerce. He was a Mason and a past president of the Rotary Club. He worked with the Boy Scouts and served many years as treasurer at First United Methodist Church. He married Edna Goodman in 1938 at Guymon, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Roberta Barton of Amarillo; two sons, Harry Drake of Grand Prairie and Grant Drake of Bridgeport; four sisters, Rachel Munson of Fort Supply, Okla., Cleta Jessup and Coeta Murry, both of Oklahoma City, and Geneva Howard of San Antonio; a brother, Ray Drake of Denver; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
