Mary Ella Humes, 85, Anthony, Kan.

Mary Ella Humes, 85, daughter of the late John L. And Samantha 
(Mosely) Gates, was born March 5, 1919, at Quinlan, Okla., and passed 
away May 8, 2004, at her home in Anthony, Kan.

Mary is survived by one son, H. B. Humes and his wife, Reva, of 
Victoria, Texas; one daughter, De Ann Arnett and her husband, Kent, 
of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three grandchildren, Stacey Arnett of Mankato, 
Minn., Heather Kolb and her husband, Mark, of Victoria, Texas, and 
Byron Humes and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Victoria, Texas; three great 
grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence Gates and his wife, Marie, of 
Anthony, Kan., Loren Gates and his wife, Isabelle, of Cherokee, and 
Kenneth Gates and his wife, Jean, of Arizona; and one sister, Nila 
Appleby of Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.

Mary was cremated at her request and there will be no services.
