All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery--Canadian TX Johnny Lee Morris CANADIAN - Johnny Lee Morris, 69, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church of Canadian with Dinzel Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Morris was born in the Gem City Community on Nov. 1, 1932. He attended Blue Ridge School and graduated from Canadian High School. He married Jeanie Job on Sept. 20, 1953, in Woodward, Okla. He was with Best Way Market for 35 years and owned and operated it from 1978 to 1993. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Canadian Rotary Club, Canadian Bass Club and served on the board of directors for Tri-State Bakery with Affiliated Foods. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Wheeler Bass Club. He was an avid sportsman. He was preceded in death by a son, David Morris in 1979; and a brother, Kenneth Morris in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Holli Ellison of Canadian; a son, Steve Morris of Denton; two brothers, Hollis Morris of Portland, Ore., and Bill Morris of Canadian; five grandchildren; and a great- grandson. The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth, Canadian, TX 79014; the Circle of Friends; or to Harrington Cancer Center.
