All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Cherokee Memorial Cemetery--Tuolumne CA Muthart, Robert Warren Stockton, CA August 26, 1920 - April 17, 2007 Robert Warren Muthart, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in a local hospital after a long and enjoyable life with his family and friends. Bob, as he was known, was a resident of Stockton for over 68 years. He was born in Mooreland, Oklahoma, and shortly thereafter moved to Missouri. Around 1941, Bob's family moved to Vacaville, CA and then to Stockton. In 1942, he went to work for Graven-Ingles Baking Company also known as Sunbeam Bread. After 35 years at Sunbeam Bread, he worked 5 years at University of the Pacific until retirement. Bob was a World War II veteran, a member of The American Legion Karl Ross Post No. 16 and the Free & Accepted Masons of California Morning Star Lodge No. 68. In addition, he was a private pilot and a charter member of Berea Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist Church in Stockton. There he served as a deacon, bus driver, maintenance man, gardener, and anything else which God called upon him to do. He was a true and loyal servant of the Lord. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lela Stoner Muthart; his sister, Della Woolner; brother, Jack Muthart and his half-brothers, James and Freed Muthart. He is survived by Norma Muthart, his wife of 58 years; his sisters, Ann Web of Capitola, CA and Bonnie House of Sacramento, CA; their children, Robert Edwin Muthart of Salem, OR, Donna Maxine Schwemley of Lodi, CA and James Paul Muthart of Manteca, CA; their grandchildren, Paul Muthart of Stockton, CA and Jennifer Muthart Billings of Sacramento, CA, Kimberly Maynard (Schwemley) of Lodi, CA, Kristopher Maynard (Schwemley) of Grove, OK and Jacob Schwemley of Lodi, CA, Eric Muthart of Manteca CA, Elisabeth Muthart of Sacramento, CA and Sarah Muthart Hurlburt of Vilseck, Germany; their great-grandchildren, Andrew, Steven and Logan Muthart, Brianna and Christopher Billings, Bailey and Mackenzie Maynard, Alexander Hurlburt and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob's many life long friends and the innumerable neighborhood kids adopted as grandchildren endearingly referred to him as "Papa". A viewing for friends and family, will take place at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home, 520 North Sutter St., Stockton, CA, Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Berea Baptist Church, 4957 Quashnick Rd., Stockton, CA on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service held directly after at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery, Highway 99 and Harney Lane.
