Rich, 70, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis. Mr. Rich was born in Memphis. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1948 and attended West Texas State University in Canyon, where he played football. He worked 10 years as an operator for Diamond Shamrock-Exxon in Dumas. He moved to Pampa in 1960 and worked for Dyer's Bar-B-Que and Hoagies Deli. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Rich of Dallas and John Rich of Midland; a daughter, Judy Echerd of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, Vernon Rich of Pampa and G.D. Rich of Lovington, N.M.; three sisters, Neva Dyer of Pampa, Betty Cooke of Palestine and Marie Olivolo of Woodward, Okla.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 15, 2000
