Ethel Rogers

Ethel Rogers, 98, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 4, 1999.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery 
in McLean with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of McClean United 
Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers 
Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Woodward County, Oklahoma Territory, and 
moved to Cottle County when she was a child. She attended school near 
Paducah and majored in elementary education and business at West 
Texas State College. She worked for Hedgecoke Motors in Amarillo and 
was a Presbyterian.

Her first husband, Edwin Buchanan, died in 1947. Her second husband, 
J. Howard Rogers, died in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Ardythe Truka of Wilmington, Del.; four 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
