All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Lakewood Memorial Park--Hughson CA White Jr., Oscar Edward Oscar Edward (Ed) White, Jr. Oscar Edward (Ed) White, Jr., age 90, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Modesto, Calif., died on Sept. 24, 2007, at Capitol Care Center in Boise. Born February 10, 1917 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Oscar and Murtie (Wilson) White, Ed grew up in Woodward, Okla. and graduated from local schools there. In 1937 he went to Calif. and worked as a migrant field laborer until he could save enough money to begin college. In 1944, he graduated from Pasadena College in Pasadena, Calif. with a B.A. in Philosophy. He was a minister in Ore. and Calif., a machinist, an electronics technician, and in later years he worked as a pastoral counselor and social worker. He was the Program Manager of the Sutter County Welfare Department in Yuba City, Calif. at the time of his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking, and visiting his family. He was united in marriage to Jane Huchingson on Jan. 30, 1943 in Denair, Calif.. They moved to Modesto in 1953 and then settled in Ceres in 1957. After 41 years of marriage, Jane passed away in 1984. Ed moved to Boise to live with his daughter and her family in 1997. Willow Park Assisted Living became his home in 2004. Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and James Jackson of San Diego, Calif., and Rebecca and Ralph Fullerton of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Erika Jackson and her husband Jason Waddle of Oakland, Calif., David Fullerton and Paul Fullerton, both of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Francis L. White, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and many nephews and nieces. His wife, his parents, three sisters, and five brothers preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Calif. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staffs at Willow Park Assisted Living, Capitol Care Center, and St. Luke's Hospice for their many kindnesses and compassionate care for Ed.
