Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Swigart officiating. Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery in Leedey, Oklahoma with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Joy Sue (Patton) Wilson was born February 11, 1937 in Leedey, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Robert Matthew and Elsie Mae (Woods) Patton. She frew up in Leedey and graduated from Leedey High School in 1955. On November 1, 1955, Joy was married to Melvin Wilson in Clovis, New Mexico. They made their home in Leedey. Joy had worked at the Fruit of the Loom factory, Sale Barn Cafe and had worked at Stock Exchange Bank for close to 40 years. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Joy loved to attend University of Oklahoma football and basketball games. In her younger days, she was a great bowler and athlete. She enjoyed collectiong Indians, frogs, turtles and western decor. Joy loved taking care of Melvin and traveling with family and friends. She enjoyed her church family at Bible Baptist Church and her work family and customers at the Stovck Exchange Bank. Joy was a wonderful, caring wife. She was very kind, considerate, compassionate and loving person to all. She treated everyone with respect and dignity. She valued her friendships and family and never passed negative judgement on others. Her faith in God directed the inspiration she bestowed on every person she met. Joy is survived by her husband Melvin of the home; two sons, Gerald Wilson and Lynn Wilson; two daughters Sandra Hampton and husband Cecil of Wichita Falls, Texas; Melvina Allen and husband Eddie of Garden City, Kansas; grandchildren, Gerald Logsdon and Heather of Mesquite, Texas; Tama Shannon and Michael of Wichita Falls, Texas; Larry Allen and Pat, Gary Allen and Laura, Shari Locke and Kendall all of Garden City, Kansas; Julie Bradford and John of Ridgecrest, California; Danny Wilson and Kristi of Virginia; Susan Carol Craighead of Mustang; great grandchildren, Justin and Tori Shannon, Joshua and Caleb Logsdon, Matthew and Laura Bradford; Kyle Wilson; Johnathon, Micala Locke; Jenna and Garret Allen; Kim and Kimbwe Craighead; one brother, Gerry and Alice Patton of Skiatook, Joy's nieces, Sherry and Brian Arnold and kids Josee, Tyler and Kellee; Vickie and Eddie Mintoin and kids Nichole, Kyle and Rachel, Nephew, Matthew and Shailee Patton and kids Taylor, Madison and Matth! ew; one sister, Barbars Nix, her son Terry Nix and Linda Nix and kids Jennifer and Johnathan of Tulsa; sister-in-law Lula Mae Patton of Skiatook. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Patton, Mother Elsie Patton; brother Larry Patton; brother-in-law Vernon Nix, granddaughter Carol Ann Allen and great grandson Ryan Craiughead.
