Co. of Chicago. page 332 Zeno Denney He was born in Lake county, California, in 1868, his parents being James P. and Sarah J. (Jones) Denney, natives respectively of Arkansas and Kentucky, and both at present residing in Dry creek valley. Our subject remained under the parental vine and fig tree until twenty-five years old, then took a homestead not far from his present place of abode and engaged in farming. After about two years experience in the basic art he resolved to try his hand in commercial pursuits, so engaged in business at Homestead, on the Snake river. He busied himself in the development of his trade for about four months, then embarked in numerous other enterprises, but about a year ago he purchased land seven miles northeast of Pine post office and again engaged in tilling the soil. He owns a fine place of one hundred and sixty acres, and is raising all varieties of crops which are suited to soil and climate. On September 9, 1895, Mr. Denney married Miss Clara A., daughter of Joseph and Lyda (Hughes) Ludiker, residents of Pine valley. Their union has been blest by the avent of two children: Nadie and Zoel Z., both at home. Mr. Denney handles considerable stock in connection with his agricultural pursuits.
