Oregon - Baker County - Goose Creek Cemetery Keating, Oregon Submitted by W. David Samuelsen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goose Creek (Keating) Cemetery There is a small cemetery on Goose Creek approximately 18 miles northeast of Baker City. It is located on a dirt road off the State Hwy 86 on a privately-owned farm. The plot is known as the Goose Creek or Keating Cemetery. Old name was Alloway or Aloway Cemetery, or Lower Powder Cemetery. This is a very early farming community and near the mines. Identity unknown of the donor of the plot for burial purposes. There are relatives or friends nearby who keep these graves in fairly good condition. Due to the way the records are, the members of the Love family are recorded as buried in Goose Creek or Keating Cemetery instead of the private Love Family Cemetery. For the sake of the records and clarity, they are listed here as well as separately. FO = Funeral Home Records DC = Death Certificates FA = Family Records, contributed by families OB = Obituaries MC = Memorial Cards Abandoned cemetery. Corrections and additions are welcome.
