"Ed" Chadwick, 83, of Baker City died Feb. 13, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. His graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Susan Barnes of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitations ill be until 8 o'clock tonight at Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. There will be a reception afterward at the Presbyterian Church, 1995 Fourth St. Ed was born on Feb. 14, 1918, at Pittsburgh. He married Alene Schuck on Sept. 3, 1938, at Baker City. They had two children, Carolyn and Thomas. These children gave them five grandsons, six great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters. Ed was raised and educated in Baker City and spent most of his life here. He was a salesman and spent part of his working life selling Chevrolets and the rest selling hardware. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a real love of the mountains. That is his legacy to his family. Survivors also include a sister, Helen Hoffman of Seattle, Wash., and his dear friend, Genevieve Elliott of Baker City. He was preceded in death by his his wife, Alene Chadwick; and his brother, Bud Chadwick. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Hospice through Gray's West & Co., P.O.
