BURKE Passes Away Yesterday Evening After a Lingering Illness. Bridget Cecelia, wife of C. E. Burke, proprietor of the Palace suit house, died yesterday evening at 8 o'clock aged 47 years. Mrs. Burke was born in Quebec, Canada, coming to this city three years ago. Previous to this she had been a resident of Portland for 16 years, where she was married to Mr. Burke in 1881. Her surviving relatives are three sisters, and two brothers, T. C. Meehan, of this city; J. M. Meehan, of virginia City, Nev.; Mrs. H. E. McGee, of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. James Ryan, of Boston and Mrs. Wm. Kane, of Tombstone, Arizona. Mrs. Burke had been sick for three or four years and of late her sufferings were severe, but she bore all with Christian patience, and fortitude. She was a devouted member of the Catholic church and was a woman of deep piety and highly respected by all who knew her. The funeral will take place from St. Francis Catholic church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. 23 Apr 1900 FUNERAL AT 2 O'CLOCK The funeral of Mrs. G. E. Burke has been postponed from 10 o'clock a.m. to 2 p.m. to await the arrival of a sister of the deceased from Portland, and will take place from the residence. The services at St. Francis Catholic church will be held at 10 o'clock as announced.
