CAMPBELL Was Niece of First wife of Ex-President Harrison Mrs. Colin Campbell died in this city yesterday, aged about 50 years. The deceased was the niece of the first wife of ex-President Harrison. Her husband, Colin Campbell, was a well known mining man and was killed on the Snake river about 10 years ago, his assailant being now serving a life sentence in the penitentiary for the murder. Mrs. Campbell was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and was married in that state. Soon after the couple married to Montana, where they resided several years. They came to Oregon about 15 years and Mr. Campbell at once became interested in mines in the Chicken creek district, and afterwards moved on the Snake river where he met his death. Four of a family survive the deceased, all of whom were adopted.
