CHRISTENSEN'S SAD DEATH OF YESTERDAY The news was received in Baker City yesterday afternoon of the sad death at 4 o'clock Thursday morning, January 5, 1905, at Haines, of Mrs. J. C. Christenson, the wife of one of the pioneer merchants and farmers of Powder valley. The deceased was about 40 years old, the mother of eight children, the oldest being 19, the youngest 2 years of age, and was a sister of Mr. Ingraham a business partner of her husband. She was popularly known in the valley as Lizzie Ingraham. Mrs. Christenson, who died in childbirth, will be buried this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Wingville church.
