David Samuelsen - March 2002 - not copyrightable ************************************************************************ The Morning Democrat, Baker City, OR; 29 Nov 1906 JOSEPH EUSTACE, PIONEER RENDERS HIS FINAL ACCOUNT Joseph Eustace, a pioneer of Baker county, died at his home in this city about midnight, November 27,1 906. For many years Baker City had been his home and he had been active in building up its commercial interests. He came to this county in the early '60s during the Auburn gulch gold boom. Mr. Eustace was born in Connecticut in 1827, crossed the plains to California in 1850, mined in that state for twelve years and then removed to Oregon. The deceased leaves a wife in Baker City and relatives in Missouri. The funeral will take place in the Methodist church at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning.
