David Samuelsen - April 2002 ************************************************************************ Eagle Valley News; Richland, OR; 7 June 1917 ANOTHER PASSES Word was received here Sunday of the death of David R. Beckstead on Saturday June 2nd, in California, where he had gone about two weeks before with the hope that his health might be benefitted. The deceased had been a sufferer from heart trouble and rheumatism for the past five years, and though his condition was serious, his death was unexpected and came before his wife and children could reach his bedside. "Dave" as he was known to the many of our residents, was 49 years, 6 months and 8 days old at the time of his demise, and having always been a man of kind and loving disposition will be greatly missed by all. The funeral services were held at the Mormon church at Salt Lake City, of which he had been a member since infancy, on Tuesday. Besides his dear old mother, Mrs. Geo. W. Beckstead of this valley, and the heart broken wife there are left to mourn his departure seven children, also the following brothers and sisters: Mr. A. Beckstead of Salt Lake; Mrs. G. S. Beckstead of Salt Lake, Mrs. W. J. Densley and Mrs. P. G. Downs of Eagle Valley.
