David Samuelsen - April 2002 ************************************************************************ Eagle Valley News; Richland, OR: 29 Oct 1914 DEATH OF MRS. DESCH Olive Cecelia Desch, wife of S. H. Desch, died very suddenly at 1:30 this (Thursday) morning, aged 44 years and 9 months. She was apparently in good health up to 6 o'clock Wednesday evening when she complained of severe pains in the back of the neck; a physician was called and after a short time she fell asleep and never regained consciousness. A bursted blood vessel is supposed to have been the cause. From the first she seemed to feel that death was near and spoke of the fact that she was going to die. She leaves besides the bereaved husband, a father, W. W. Wheeler at Glenn's Ferry, Idaho, a son, H. C. Desch of Portland, and two daughters, Mrs. C. J. Tubbs and Norma Desch. The family have only been residents of the valley since last February, having came here from Boise, Idaho, and have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Frank Hopkins, officiating.
